Lol........WOW... THIS IS FUNNI CONVERSATION!!
Bass tournament fisherman acutally get to lake and "POUND" and I MEAN POUND IT... for ..ie 3-5 days sometimes a straight week before a MASTERS OR CLASSIC...it gives amatures and non-locals a fighting chance agaist to PRO's and LOCAL guides!!
SO EVERONE IS AWARE the fishing at melones has been tough all year dont expect limits!! ..It was not just after Thursday that bite got slow! It was slow on Moday then Wed..of that same week with hardly any pressure on em'.. Some people nailed em over the weekend..again those were Locals and pre-fisherman with proper reports..not wishwash on the blog boards which has actually become BAD reports people give ..on purpose! With "wrong depth's/ colors /etc" to get everyone using something besides the "Hott" lure... for the conditions!
I am not sure where you got the info on Bass torunaments maybe that person was mistaken??
Just so you all know....I AM GREEDY!!! When I get that Monster school on my graph ie "THUR/FRI"... THEY ARE ALL MINE ....
MUAHAHAHAHAH MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Then I will tell ya'll to go scouting! HA...
That a BIG ..J/K for those of you getting mad about little silvery fish!!
The point is here...Tournament Kokanee Fishing is nothing more than 95% luck and a little skill...(we all have the same boats/eqiptment/sources of knowledge/etc)
When it come down to it we all like to catch fish and have a funn time.. PERIOD!!!!! WIN OR NOT ..
If people are looking to find ways to catch fish and make an enjoyable productive Tournament...
Just drop a line in the water and sit back RELAX! All good things come in time!! 
First it was a member's only fishery! Now we members are not>>> ENCOURAGED to fish !

This is just getting to be to much rules/ competition for me on this one guys im not diggin it ! "personal opinion"
Seems like we keep raving about the gifts and prizes total $$ figures.. How about talking more about fish how much of this derby money goes directly back into the fishery we are "overfishing" 1 or 2 weekends a year?
Dont get me wrong I enjoy the GREAT FOOD ..GIFTS..RAFFLE..AND MONEY..
But ENJOY THE FISHING AND EXPERIENCE ARE MUCH MORE VALUABLE THAN $$$ CAN DO!! `
MOST OF US DONT FISH KOKANEE DERBY'S FOR THE MONEY/RAFFLE/FOOD/GIFTS ....BUT OR THE FISH / FRIENDS AND FUN!!!!!

How about instead of taking pre-fishing out of this derby where it WONT matter at all!!
WE TAKE PRE-FISHING out of the BIGG KP SHASTA DERBY in MAY...THAT WAY THE BROWN TROUT CAUGHT THE FIRST DAY ACTUALLY REPRESENT THAT!! NOT FISH THAT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT OFF THE MCLOUD SPANWING BEDS 2-3 DAYS PRIOR TO THAT DERBY ... HUM?? SCRATCH SCRATCH..ITS ALLWAYS INTERSTEING TO SEE THE NUMBER OF BROWN TORUT CAUGHT ON DAY 1 VS DAY 2... why??? PREFISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WINS THE SHASTA MAY DERBY AND IF ANYONE SAYS DIFFRENT I SAY YOU ARE FROM MARS!! or someplace new!! ~~~~~wink wink there is food for thought ..since 50% of us also fish that derby!!
HAPPY "belated" INDEPENDENCE DAY!!
Many of our forefather's mothers.. paid dearly for the freedoms and democracy's that we enjoy today!! Hope we are celebrating this day in their memorys and our freedoms and this isnt just another "party" hallmark holiday!!
