I support a Coho cage program at Oroville. This lake has become an awesome fishery and with continued support plus a cage program it would enhance the fishing there.
I would not support adding king salmon anywhere until the numbers of returning spawners can support the expansion of the plants into new waters. As well, if it affects the current planting programs in place already I would oppose that.
With the numbers of Kokanee planted trying to establish Folsom, Rollins, which have failed in my opinion I would not support any more expansion of this program. The question I have is have the numbers planted in Berryessa and New Melones been reduced by half to facilitate the plants at these new locations? If so, it should be reevaluated and the numbers adjusted accordingly.
I understand that DFG most likely has the final say in where plants take place and we must work with them. With that said we should strategize where our efforts can most benefit the fishing as we do support put and take opportunities for all of us who like to fish and take home a meal or two.
