Hi Jon,
For Starters...we just found out that Bill Dunn was available yesterday 3-18 for the seminar...as soon as we talked to Bill Dunn we posted it on the board. It a good idea to line up our speakers for future meetings...as we can...we will post them to let as many folks know as possible.
As far as volunteering...we always appreciate folks stepping up and helping out. SUNNY LAMPE IS OUR VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR He can be reached at SUNNY'S ELECTRIC MARINE IN SAC 916.487.3868.
You're right, there's lots of volunteers (but we always apppreciate more) sometimes we have more than enough helpers to go around, sometimes we ask for more help and it is usually posted here on the board or SUNNY makes a few calls and lines up more help. We do not call everyone...everytime we need help. We rarely ask our volunteers do alot...we ask that all of them do a little...so we do not "burn them out".
The reason you have not heard anything since the shows is there have been no projects that require volunteers...but our derby season starts soon and I'm sure there will be calls made for assistance. I think your idea of listing events where we need volunteers both on our website and on the message board is a good idea. We will discuss this at our meeting tonight.
That brings us to meetings...our board of directors and membership meetings are always the 3rd Wednesday of the month. They are business meetings where the board meets prior to the membership meeting. We have not had regular speakers in the past but we plan on having speakers at every meeting where time allows. Look for that info to be posted here and on the website in the future.
Our Business members section is under construction and will most likely be discussed tonight.
You're on the volunteer list...along with many many others...be patient...we don't do projects every month...and we'll do a better job of letting everyone know if we need more help via this message board and our website.
Hope this hleps,
Sep
