Indian Valley lake and the camp grounds report:
The lake is 37 ft from full. Should be full with all the rain we had but it is not. The lake was drained way down low last Summer and I don't see any chance of it filling up the rest of the winter.
The store is closed, no ice,and I really don't know what their plans are for the lake or the camp grounds. Not ssure if they know at this time.
I wish I knew the mandates for the camp grounds and launch ramp through the state. I am sure there is requirements and standards they must keep to have a public facility. There may even be requirements for a corperation to have a lease on a lake that is on Public Land. I don't know but someone should have the knowledge and know how as to check on such things.
The lake was muddy Sat. and we did not get a bite.Maybe a couple more weeks and the lake will clear up and be fishable.
I left the lake Sat evening as the sun was setting with a lump in my throat thinking of all the good times we all have had in the past years catching monster Kokanee and large trout. I wonder if those times will ever return. Rich
