I and others have hit a brick wall at Isaac Willoughby, 1750-c.1850. He was born in N.C. and married Elizabeth Willaby (possible surname) in Bertie, NC. At some point he moved to Jackson Co., TN where he had 4 sons: James H. (my line), Jefferson, Davidson, & Isaac Jr.
We cannot find the parents of Isaac or any siblings and have exhausted all records we know of. I have an ancestry.com subscription and have been searching for almost a year.
About 99% of ancestry trees list his father as John from NH, but this is erroneous info and I have the proof. My Isaac is not from the northeast.
Any help or clues you might provide would be so appreciated by myself and others. If you have no answers, but are also searching, jump on board, we'd love to have you helping to solve this mystery!
