Saw your message about John Ardie sparks. He is my g-g-grandfather through his son (David Jackson Sparks) and David's daughter (Georgia L.)who married Everette E. Vaughan in Clay, WV. I have always asked questions about him and David, but no one was able to tell me anything about them. My grandmother alway told me they came from Boyd Co., KY. I am a Civil War nut and I recently started checking my ancestors names to see if I had any that served. Only info I could possibly give you would be the Vaughan side after Georgie's marriage.
