Hello,
I also have a James Boyd (b.1751 VA) m.Phebe Webster (b. VA); they movedto Bracken County, KY c1790; first child Joseph (b.c1830 KY), then Daniel (b. 1831 KY), Oliver (b. 1833 KY) and Lewis (b.1837 KY. This Oliver is my GGGgrandfather.

I'd love to see what info you have. I'd bet there's a connection somewhere.
