Looking for country of origin for Peter Whittinghill ca 1752-1844. A lot of family histories on the net are claiming that he was born in Augusta County VA. There is absolutely no proof of his birth or his name on a ship list to confirm anything about his origin. He lived in Augusta County, VA during the late 1700s, then moved on to Harrodsburg, Mercer Co., KY. If anyone has any kind of proof of his origins, I would be really appreciative of learning about it. It could be the Netherlands, Germany, or Great Britain. Or, who knows?
