Austin Gulihur is purported to have been a childhood friend of Abraham Lincoln, when they both lived in Kentucky. I recently heard a story that Austin Gulihur once saved Lincoln's life. I assume that Austin Gulihur is related to my ancestor, Isaac Gulihur, a comrade in arms, friend and neighbor of Lincoln's in New Salem, Illinois. Isaac Gulihur also may have emigrated from Kentucky.
