What species of snake would be best suited for eating human prey?

The big gulp message board has been a bit slow lately, so let's liven things up with some interesting vore-related discussions! Purely theoretically speaking, what snake species would have the biggest chance to grow to a size needed to swallow human prey whole? I'd assume that it'd either be an Anaconda or a Reticulated Python. While the Python will, on average, reach a longer length than an Anaconda, an Anaconda tends to have a bigger girth/size ratio than a Python. Opinions?

Well there HAVE been reports of anacondas swallowing children although nobody can seem to confirm that. From my own studies I have found that the consensus is that a large python or anaconda COULD swallow a human adult if the adult was actually "cooperative". There have been cases where an anaconda TRIED to swallow a human but the person was able to fight it off and apparently the anaconda didn't think it was worth the effort. So I guess the real answer is a large python or anaconda CAN get you down if you are willing to let it. Anybody out there want to prove that?

This can be a touchy subject here do to the fact that large pythons have been known to constrict and swallow children. When the topic of RL vore comes up we must try and respect the true victims and there loved ones left behind. If a child is taken by a pred (like a large snake) it is nothing more than Terrible Tragedy, and should be treated as such.

Hah, with the posts that pop up in here from time to time, you'd think that finding cooperative human prey wouldn't be that hard. Maybe Jonah should find somebody to test your consensus?

I agree that anybody falling prey to snakes or another animal against their will is a horrible tragedy, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. This topic is just intended as a little discussion about if it's realistically possible for an adult human to feed itself to a snake willingly, and which snake would be best suited for that. Purely theoretically of course. I really hope that this topic doesn't offend anybody, I just wanted to do my part in making the Big Gulp Message Board a bit more active again.

One thing I'd like to add to bring into this topic of discussion that I find interesting is this. The question of what animals may be able to swallow humans whole has been brought up many times all over the internet. Unfortunately,when someone tries to ANSWER this question, it's always from the POV that the human prey does NOT want to be swallowed and would of course fight for his/her life. Therefore the only answers ever given to this question is that a large snake can "PROBABLY" swallow a human down and the only animal that could take down a human whether or not he wants to go down is a sperm whale. It would be interesting to find out which animals out there really DO have a throat and stomach large enough to accommodate a human IF that human not only cooperated but did all he could to help himself go down easier. Anybody want to field this one?

Against uncooperative humans there are probably fish large enough to swallow smaller humans. If a fish big enough to swallow an unresisting human could hold a resisting human under water, once drowning occurred, ingestion would occur. Saltwater crocs can get really big and could probably do it too. Some sharkes as well.

Megalodon? They have found a couple unfossilized teeth of this massive shark, and this video popped up on youtube... [url=_o?t=30s]Link to the vid since its not showing up right there is a commercial but @30 seconds they show more of this monster. there is also Hexanchus. Both of theses are at the bottom of the ocean, and I don't think we could stand the pressure going down, or them coming up, but those both look big enough to eat someone whole.

I would be willing to try and fit down the throat of a hungry snake. Not joking, I have wanted it to happen to me for years. I wouldn't struggle in the slightest bit, I know I belong in the snake's stomach.
