Strega is correct in this instance in that even if swallowed alived, the paint would be excrutiating, and the bleeding severe if a typicl large python tried to swallow a human due to the large, sharp teeth pulled into the flesh each time the snake would pull the prey burther into its mouth. This is not the case with smaller prey that is easily swallowed. Small animals are often swallowed alive by snakes, with scarcely a pinprick of skin damage as can be seen when snakes swallow hairless rodent pups. Many people seem to be unaware of all of the species of snakes that always swallow their prey alive, and do not contrict at all. In a fantasy setting, these types of snakes could be larger than pythons, and would be perfect animals for swallowing humans alive and relatively undamaged.
