One, it's probably gene linked, like a lot of sexual aptitudes, tendencies, leaning, and fetishes. So there's not that bad a chance that he's at least interested in something similar.
Show him something very mild but very high quality along the lines of what you enjoy, a single PG pic or the like, and be mildly enthusiastic.
"Just got this, isn't it nifty?"
See how he reacts.
Negatively, drop it and don't worry about it for a while. He may be covering, and if so, he needs to make the next move.
If positively, a few weeks later, show him something else.
Repeat the pattern until dialog seems natural.
