I would like to see included in the AB 1831 policy that "if one is considered for hire before the actual background check, he/she should be given the employment opportunity based on the ability to perform the work, with a 3-month probation period, regardless to a pass conviction."
The catch 22 here is; the person is an ex-felon but has been employed at least 3 months after his/her release date!
I'm not trying to be funny, but I know some felons were thrown in jail "just because" and some did not commit crimes that constituted a prison sentence! I believe a person should be afforded an opportunity to prove his/her qualities to get and keep a job.
And those are my thoughts for AB 1831!
