Our family oral history says that James D Williams came to the USA in 1863 and "until the spring of 1864 lived near Eastport, Me". James was a 21 year old miner from Cornwall, England. Were there any mining operations near Eastport at that time? He worked in the mines in Cornwall for over 10 years before coming to the US.
