Dear Graham:
thanks for your answer. When I bought that compressor, it was meant to be the 'best' and to this day it remains as the most expensive... but clearly not the best.
I'm still looking for a solution... I'd go for one of those cheap ones that sell at KMart or Big W, but I'm unsure if their air pressure is ok for my airbrush (Aztek 4709) or, if the mix of air/paint will ruin my models?
I ask this since commercial compressors work at a higher pressure than the 'special' ones.
: I bought my compressor in 1974 at a
: leather-working shop in lower George St
: Sydney for about $100 which was a week's pay
: in those days. It is an oil-less Thomas and
: I have used it constantly for 31 years and
: apart from getting a bit hot if I spray for
: more than 30 mins constantly, it has not
: missed a beat. I used a Paasche F2 for the
: first 26 years and now run an H2. I think.
: like most things, you pays your money and
: get what you pay for. I thought my original
: purchase was over the top but it has proved
: worth it in the long run. Graham Carter
