Re: ALBANIA: Royal Marriage
It is fascinating how much of the Gotha and some quarters of the European media (Point de Vue, etc.) have given this wedding the full "royal treatment," which is new for the Albanian royal house. The guest list was extremely impressive. I find this remarkable because the House of Zogu only reigned for less than a dozen years, was a 20th century creation and were never part of the cosmopolitan European cousinage of the pre-Great War era. From what I know of the Prince, I have a great deal of respect for him. (I did not have a similar high regard for his late father.) This is one of the few deposed royal houses for which I really do wonder whether there may be some sort of "second chance" in the future. I wish the couple well. --Previous Message-- : Prince Leka has married his longtime : girlfriend and actress in a ceremony in : Albania.
