Indeed. The King is right that the transition from dictatorship to genuine liberal democracy is is a rough one and is most likely to succeed if done gradually. Unfortunately, HM has been talking the talk for years and has not taken action in the first twelve years of his reign. History may be passing him by. If he wishes his son ever to sit on his throne, 2-3 years may be too long to wait.
