There is a collection of essays in a book titled "Virtues in Conflict" edited by Sandra Matielli. The essay written by Ellen Salem is about an in-depth look at the everyday life and traditions inside Sadong Palace as told to her by Princess Yi Haegyong. Its a very informative essay and very detailed and gives an intimate glimpse. Its covers about 15-20 pages of the book.
The information of the book is:
Salem, Ellen. "Women Surviving: Palace Life in Seoul after the Annexation." In Sandra Mattielli, ed. Virtues in Conflict: Tradition and the Korean Woman Today. Seoul: The Samhwa Publishing Co., for the Royal Asiatic Society, Korea Branch, 1977.
