Ichijô Tomiko was born at Kyoto on 27 Feb 1743 (Kanpô 3.2.4) and died there on 9 Jan 1796 (Kansei 7.11.30). She received the title of Nyôgo 29 Dec 1755 (Hôreki 5.11.27), was accorded Jusangû precedence 18 Apr 1759 (Hôreki 9. 3.21). She was created Kôtaigô (Dowager Empress) on 21 June 1771 (Meiwa 8. 5.9) and then on 19 Aug 1771 (Meiwa 8.7.9) she was given the name Kyôraimon'in (sometimes transliterated Kyôreimon’in).
