For first time an Indonesian royal from Timor has written the history of his own kingdom as a blend of European historical works and the oral tradition(for a part written down in the modern time as well locally).
It is the history of the on Timor very important principality of Amanatun, which first ruler was a brother of the (paramount) Emperor,or Maromak Oan of total Timor.
The book is called Raja Raja Amanatun yang berkuasa and is wriiten by Prince Don Kusa Banunaek, son of the last Raja/Usif of Amanatun(middle part of W.-Timor)Raja Lodewik Banunaek(1946-1962(-1973)/d. 1990).
It is published by Pustaka Pelajar in Yogyakarta (pustakapelajar@telkom.net ).The book will be cheap, because the books in Indonesia are never expensive. The book has 176 pages, contains a lot of pictures of the dynasty of Amanatun,as well nearly all the pictures of the last ruliong monarchs of West-Timor(and some of Alor- and Savu island/nearby islands). It also contains maps of W.-Timor with the principalities boundaries on it(throgh the ages).
Even,if a person can't read Indonesian at all,the book is very worthwile to have in it's possesion;f.i. for the beautifull pictures in it(50 mostly full page pictures).
I hope, that many will like the book.
Yours sincerelly:
