Posted by Bridgette Mirabella Hi Kathy, I was just searching the web looking at Bask Arabian horses just to see how absolulty breathtaking they are! My horse Akhubahn just passed away the day before Thanksgiving of 2004. He was the love of my life and my sole mate. I have to say that telling the vet to put him to sleep was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do. I had him for 18 years. My aunt got him for me one Christmas. She went to look at him for herself and as soon as she laid eyes on him she thought of me I wad 8 years old and he was 4. She is the one who would always tell me that we where kindred spirits because every time that I would get hurt or sick he would get hurt or sick the next day and in the same way. I had to put him down because he had laminitis. He was laying down so much that he ended up getting ammonia and his lungs filled up with blood making it hard for him to breathe. Three days before we put him to sleep I brought my boyfriend over to see him, "unfortunately for the first time" my boyfriend always thought it was strange the way that I would always talk about my horse, until the that night. Akhubahn was so sick and week and could barley hold up his head. I was standing in front of him brushing his face when I started to cry. Akhubahn lifted up his head as week as he was and gave me a kiss. My boyfriends jaw dropped in disbelief. Now every time that I talk about my horse and people think that I am strange because of how close we where he always tells them, I have never seen that kind of bond between animal and human he really loved her more than anything in this world. My email is mainly to ask you if you new of a way that I would be able to have a tribute done in memory of him. If you are interested please call me or email me 904-477-8261. Thank you,
