Thanks so much for sharing your guy's story. It is so funny that you should mention his "mouthiness". Molsen is the same. He was an awful chewer when he was younger. Many a time I had to retrieve lead lines from his esophagus like huge spaghetti noodles. We tried to discourage this behavior as items in the barn just seemed to disappear. Well, we've been pretty successful ... now he licks. It is hysterical ... he will lick your hand, your arm, etc... He loves to gives kisses (on the lips, too!). He is such a bold, beautiful, aggressive mover that people are so surprised by his gentle, loving nature with people. I must be careful, though, of claiming success too quickly with mighty Molsen. He's a dancer (his nickname is "Doodle" because he loves to wiggle and get into everything. Last month I was bragging to everyone about how quietly he was standing tied to the hitching post (waiting for our trail ride) while I was helping a beginner tack up. When I went to mount up I noticed that he had been very quietly munching on my favorite reins. But, you know, I just can never be truly mad at him because he is so wonderful and gives so much pleasure to me. What a unique and awesome line of horses Bask produced. (Molsen descends from a Bask on Sanacht cross ... she was one heck of a mare, too!)
I love hearing all of the stories of these wonderful grandget of Bask!!!!
: I am glad to read these wonderful
: messages about Bask's offspring. I
: have a grandson of his and I love him
: like I love my daughters. Can't help
: it--he is so intelligent and loving. A
: firecracker, but he has always taken
: care of me. He had a minor injury this
: past summer, so I hand-walked him for
: almost 3 months. I'm so glad I did--we
: became even closer. Now when I
: hand-walk him (I do it for a short
: distance almost every day, just to
: keep our bond alive), he latches onto
: my hand and gently gnaws on it. We can
: be seen walking on the trails
: "hand in mouth." People
: don't believe it until they see it. He
: is truly an amazing horse. My thanks
: to Bask and the angel that bred him to
: eventually produce my boy. :-)

: This is so cool to have come across
: this
: website. I am an Arab fan and owner.
: My #1 Love of My Life is Molsen Golden
: a Bask grandson out of Amarath
: Baikail(Bask x Sanacht)who was
: imported from Canada in the early
: 90's. He is a singularly gorgeous
: animal who turns heads wherever he
: goes. He is a thrilling ride with all
: the power of his famous grampa. He
: has been shown hunter jumper by my
: daughter who fell in love with his
: wonderfully macho personality. But
: this horse's strength is his
: "die-for-you" dedication to
: me in the woods. There is no obstacle
: too scary, no distance too long, no
: hill too high. His indomitable spirit
: and great beauty are his legacy to
: Bask and Sanacht. Wherever we go,
: everyone (horse folk of no) just stop
: and stare at our wonderful Molsen.
