Just thought I'd let you know...
Although there are some really wonderful horses for sale out there, no one really has much money to spend nowadays and horses are being sadly undersold, just to sell them. I can't tell you how many times I've opened a message on a message board posted by someone who is "desperate" to sell, yet wants $6500! Yes, the horse is more than probably worth that or more, but as soon as anyone sees that price, that's the end of the potential buyer. In order to definitely sell nowadays, you've got to drastically lower the price. One has to decide - do you want to make money, or do you want one less hay-eater over the winter? Sorry, I know this is not much help, but my ultimate advice is to place an ad on "Dreamhorse.com" for less than $1000. Good luck.
