: I planned on cleaning the house all day and
: get organized for the week when the door
: bell rang. It was my friend, her husband,
: and daughter. They were so excited to tell
: us that our horse trainer had called to see
: if we would be interested in an older lesson
: horse that needed some TLC. My friend
: rescued her Arabian and thought that we
: should check it out since the kids have
: enjoyed her rescue horse so much. Her horse
: was near death- he was starved.
: Everything else is a blur. The next thing I
: realize, is our trainer preparing us for the
: horses poor condition. I thought to myself-
: she can't be any worse than my friend's
: horse. I could hardly wait to get out of
: the truck. I was so excited to share this
: moment with my sweet innocent daughter. As
: the door pushed open- the smell almost took
: my breath away. The lady walked me over to
: a gray Arabian. I know if she could have
: said something, she would have cried for
: help. Her eyes said it all! They asked if
: we wanted to take her home. I thought, I
: want to take them all home. I asked them to
: please load the other white Arabian as well.
: The man that owned all of these horses
: was placed in a Nursing home. The lady I
: referenced earlier was suppose to be taking
: care of them. The horses have not been out
: of their stalls in over a year, the stalls
: have not been cleaned in over a year, they
: have been fed very little hay- just enough
: to keep them alive.
: We saved two of them. There are eight
: horses still there. Four of them are studs,
: two quarter horses, and Arabians. We were
: asked not to turn the man in that is in the
: nursing home. We are moving all the horses
: to homes that will keep them until they find
: new loving homes. Please contact me if you
: are interested in adopting any of these
: horses- or interesting in donating any
: funds. I will work on getting pictures.
: My email is armbruer@yahoo.com. Does anyone
: know how I can establish ourselves as a
: rescue organization for horses?
: I tucked my daughter in tonight and told
: her thank you for helping us today. I
: explained that we were doing a good thing.
: She said, " mommy, don't be mad at that
: lady, God just made her that way." My
: daughter is only five. How sweet!
: Thank you- Erin
