Hi there MNappy,
Thanks so much for replying. Aren't message boards great? I work with Ben every day and am amazed with him more and more. I think he is the best thing that has happened to me in the horse world for quite a while and I sure hope he thinks the same thing of all of us that love him here. I know he loves my older QH he gets to hang with in the field. They are quite a twosome.
Thnak you again.

: Have you looked the ApHC website, are you a
: member? If so you get the monthly magazine
: which is very helpful with bloodlines and
: stuff. I started raising app's a few years
: ago, but have since sold out. I did a lot
: of research on pedigree's and found which
: horses I liked best! Every horse is
: different in temperment, but I will say this
: after owning and working with app's for more
: then 15yrs......they are extremely smart! I
: would compare them to a donkey or mule in
: the smarts department, they are cautious,
: sure footed, very smart, and never forget!!!
: Also, if they don't like you, it's going to
: be very hard to win them over! And that
: maybe the problem with your guy and kids.
: Maybe he has such a dislike for how they ran
: him, that he just wants nothing to do with
: them! I dealt alot with foundation
: appaloosas and this has been my experience!

: Hi Natalie!
: Pleased to meet you, and thankyou so much
: for your reply. My dad used to have appy's
: and arabians and some crosses but I was too
: young to appreciate that they have wonderful
: personalities. Now that I have one at the
: ripe young age of 41, I find that he is a
: different ball game altogether compared to
: my QH. Very curious also.
: Thankyou again and if you can direct me to a
: website with much more about their
: personality, I would appreciate it greatly.

: Apps are great!! and versital is the best
: way
: to describe them. They are willing, loving
: and able partners. There are the occasional
: bad apples but for the most part even the
: stallions I've met are great loving willing
: horses. Hopefully yours is one of the greats
: a kind willing family horse that'll take you
: for a gallop when you want and then turn
: around and walk with it's head down and walk
: carefully so not to unseat even the smallest
: child. Their great horses hope you enjoy
: yours. Natalie

: Hi there,
: Just stumbled upon this site. It's great!
: The question is.....can anyone help me find
: a lengthy
: description of an appaloosa's temperment,
: frame of mind, character, etc? I have
: looked every where on the net for a month
: now and all I can find is that they are
: versatile, they are good for many uses, this
: that and the other thing, which is really
: great to know, but I want more about their
: character, their loyalty, their curiosity,
: their personality.
: I just bought the most beautiful (to me) 13
: year old gelding appy, red roan with
: blanket, he is great and my 14 year old boy
: loves him too. I think I have fallen in
: love with him too. Next time I post, I have
: a few riding questions I would like to ask
: if I may.
: Thank you for any info on sites about my
: above question.
