I learned quite a bit about the condition when I ended up with one after years of breeding appaloosas. My yearling doesn't see as well as the others (she's night blind), but she is a wonderful girl and I find the longer I have her the better I like her. I hope you'll give your sky-eyed mare a chance! Thank you for the photos they are a very good example of the Sky eye phenomenon we see in the Appaloosa. This is often seen with Congenital
Stationary Night Blindness, but not in all night blind horses. An electroretinogram performed by a veterinary ophthalmologist would be needed to confirm that condition in the affected foal. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns that I may help
