Application Question: when to submit and retaking courses / chances
Posted by AAmay on May 14, 2019, 3:00 pm
I am looking to apply this cycle and start August/ fall 2020. I know Emory’s app has already been open and their deadline is Oct4 but I won’t be done with physics until this fall. Does anyone know when you should submit the Emory app by? And when I should submit everything else with a later deadline by?
Also! I got a C in anatomy which is the min for Emory and Anatomy is only a preferred class in other programs I want, so is it worth retaking? I have a 3.53 Gpa, 320 GRE, and nursing assistant experience
Re: Application Question: when to submit and retaking courses / chances
I am a first year student, about to begin next week, who already went through the application cycle last year. If I were you, I would still apply to the Emory program if that is the program you are wanting to ultimately attend. Keep your options open though, as every school offers something different that might appeal to you. My friend got accepted into the Emory program without taking A&P 2. He took the class over the fall 2018 and they still accepted him before him passing the class, so physics shouldnt be any different. As long as all the prereqs/requirements are met before matriculation. Also, I wouldn't retake anatomy if I were you. Even though you have a C, your cGPA is average and test scores are good enough to push you through. Just apply early to get looked at before everyone else and if they ask why you have a C, explain to them where you went wrong and how you could have fixed it.
