How is the job outlook for AAs? Any unemployed grads? I shadowed in two major hospitals in Florida (where AAs can practice) and neither of them will hire AAs. How are current grads getting employed? I don't see how AA's have a chance when they're competing with the already well-established CRNA's. Some Anesthesiologists don't even know what an AA is.

Can't speak for the south but the northern Anesthesiologists know about and love AAs. I work for a top US Hospital in the Midwest and the Anesthesiologists actually prefer AAs over CRNAs. Licensing is also projected to skyrocket through all of the states within the next couple of years and the nursing unions that have kept CRNAs more recognizable is crumbling, so by all accounts the job outlook for graduating AAs is bright and getting brighter.
