68.52.101.23More than likely you would only need to submit the parts of your application that have changed such as updated transcripts or test scores. Also they will probably want you to add an addendum to your personal statement detailing the things you have done over the past year that make you a more compelling candidate. 65.32.146.133I spoke with the admissions cordinator and she states that both campuses are full. So if you havent heard from them it is more likely that you havent gotten in the program. IF you are on the waiting list, it a high probability you wont get in either because everyone sent in their deposit. - Re: Nova Denied

Not sure about the wait list though....My interview was the last on March 27, they said final decisions would be made 1st to 2nd week in April.

206.81.166.225Please feel free to disagree but I would not recommend investing the time to becoming an anesthesia technician to get into AA school. Would you be satisfied working as a technician if you do not get into school? If so, then sure go ahead and do it. However, if you only plan on doing it to get into school, and if denied, you choose another career, its obviously not worth the effort. I would recommend using that time to do more volunteer type work and/or anesthesia observations. If you have fulfilled your AA pre-reqs, find a part time job in lab somewhere or research, something that does not require training. Remember, during your interview they may ask you, "Why did you decide to do AA when you spent the time to become a technician and were already a part of the anesthesia team?" What would be your response?

206.81.166.225Woah, first of all relax. Notice my first line that states, "feel free to disagree", as in this is only an opinion. I'm not "trashing" your idea, strictly stating other options that you may have not thought about to stimulate your thinking. Call it constructive criticism. Obviously everyone has taken a different path to get to where they are. It seems like you want to reapply next year right? Go to www.asatt.org and check it out. It appears it takes at least 2 years to become a bonafied Anesth. Technician. Once again, there is nothing wrong with becoming a tech, it just seemed you were missing some information. I understand its hard to get a feel for someones intentions because you're only reading text and there's no emotion. Read my other posts, I'm actually encouraging and trying to help wherever.
BTW. The interview question was just to give you a heads up on the type of mindset you have to have when going into the interview process next year so you can kill it! Not because I just want to be an ahole. They ask you those type of questions to throw you off guard, your response was not bad, now you're already one step ahead.
Hope you don't still feel salty.

You can become an Anesthesia Tech with on the job training. I know plenty of Anesthesia Tech's that did not go to a 2 year certification school or whatever. - Re: Nova Denied

Just to share a bit more knowledge from somebody from the admissions committee at an AA school (not me)during the interview process, "You don't have to have experience in anesthesia or healthcare to become an AA. That's what our school is for, to train you to be an advanced healthcare provdier. We just want to know what you're all about and that you have made the decision to be here based on what you know about AA's and persuade us this is what you want to do. That is why we require the observation hours in our admissions process. So you have some understanding of what the title requires physically and mentally. Not to learn how to administer anesthesia or get an edge on your peers in your first year."
What you didn't state in your first response to me and your interview response to my question was your financial status. Don't be afraid to explain that to the board, this shows them you are taking responsibility and accountability for your previous debts. Use this as leverage to "control" your interview by turning negatives (i.e. debt, non-admittance this go around) into positives (hardworking, motivated).

65.190.106.158He was right to say what he said. They do like the fact that you would be exposed to a lot of anesthesia as a tech. but ultimately they want to know what kind of person you really are. At South I responded to the question of "what would you do if you did not get in this year?" with the response you just gave and they told me to give them another answer because they thought I was just giving them what I thought they wanted to hear. Once I was at my NOVA interview with that knowledge I gave a true answer instead of what you think they want to here and guess what...I got in. - Re: Nova Denied

24.154.162.218Ok. That does not make any sense to me whatsoever. I'm going to work my ass off to become an AA anyway I can. How am I going to pay for AA school if I do not have any money? I have undergraduate loans I also have to start paying off? How am I going to learn anything more about the AA field if I do volunteer work else where?
I am also considering becoming a surgical assistant for a year because there are no jobs out there and I have a spot if I want it and I will get plenty of anesthesia exposure there as well. - Re: Nova Denied

71.60.73.79Wondering....When it comes to surgery, that is my field of expertiece.....I do not know of any OTJ training for surgical assistant because you have to be certified as a CST first with experience and first assistant training.... Unless you are referring to a surgical technologist and the shortest program for that that I can recall is around 15 months.... which is alot longer than you are looking for....I do know that the hospitals do OTJ training to become an anesthesia aide....But again, this is all about what you put into it(time). If you are planning to apply again next year, time is not on your side....You may need to reconsider re-taking course work or the GRE or MCAT to strengthen your application instead of health-care experience because that is what you actually have time to change...Just a little help along the way.. 
Now back to my original question, has anyone received a denied letter as of yet....because, if not, then everyone is still in the running, to me... now I could be wrong

If you know what your going to do, then stop posting here and go do it. Instead, you come on here get an answer and then tell them that "doesnt make any sense whatsoever" yet they GOT IN. Stop being so narrow minded and learn to listen a bit.
Also, you obviously haven't done any research on how to become a tech of any sort and seem to think you just walk in and apply for it. Most of those programs are what people do for a career or second career, believe it or not, and they do not just take a couple weeks to become certified. 173.88.209.209I'm not negative. There are AA's out there that have told me what to do. They have told me that there are anesthesia techs that get on the job training.
That being said, here is what I want to do. Bash me if you like, but I think this is an ok idea.
I have an offer to become a surgical assistant and an oral surgery facility. Not only do I get anesthesia observation experience (I have normal hospital experience as well, and will continue those observations as well), but it will be a job I get paid for. I understand how important the volunteer experience and how good that is, but at the same time that does not help with paying off my undergraduate loans. I have taken that financial responsibility and must follow up on it. So I think this job is a perfect fit. It is not something I want to do for the rest of my life, but I think it is the best of both worlds.
Secondly, I will take the MCAT, and retake the GRE.
Third, I may retake classes that I think I should retake (OChem 2 owned me).
With all that being said, I really really want to get in. I am not negative about not getting in. I am not salty or any of that at all. I am looking forward to this next year.
