I have 2 years experience as an EMT, 1 year as a Medical Assistant, 2 years of patient transport, and ofcourse about 25-30 hours of anesthesia shadowing. I have a 3.2 gpa and a 23 on the MCAT. Do you guys think the 23 is good enough to submit, or should I try to tackle the GRE? THANKS!!

69.136.44.200I'm currently a south university student 1st yr. I had a 28mcat and a 3.7 gpa and got in to south but waitlisted for emory and case programs, even though I easily met there min requirements. So in my opinion I would strive to get a better score nothing is guranteed. - Re: GRE or MCAT??

209.6.222.108I talked to them yesterday actually. This years class had a GPA avg of 3.3 and GRE scores of 600+ on both the verbal and quantitative. I have yet to get any info on Nova, although this year was their first class I believe.

76.26.24.108With the rest of your credentials (assuming you had at least a B in all the pre-reqs) I would say a 23 isn't something that is going to hold you back. I got a 26 and had a 3.2 GPA and got in--but it seems like you have had more experience than I did. Even though they say it "doesnt matter" if you have had experience or not in the medical field, I believe it is helpful. Nova definitely looks highly upon experience. Your many hours of shadowing (with out it being job associated) also shows that you're dedicated to finding out more about our profession which is great! If you would feel more comfortable with your application by taking the GRE, then go for it, but I wouldn't say you need it. - Re: GRE or MCAT??
