Bob, you are right, you should apply. AA programs don't care how old you are only that you have the right background and personality for the job as it is stressful and you make life or death decisions for patients. It just happens that this combination occurs in older applicants much more often. I would advise you to go into interviews with a more mature attitude than you are displaying here, though. Also, what leverage are these CMEs going to give you. All AAs have to take CMEs and therefore, will have the same leverage. CMEs do not qualify you for an expanded scope of practice so you will still be on the same level as other AAs. Your work experience will give you a leg up. I suggest further reading.
