First semester was the toughest academically I thought just because everything was new. The first three semesters are full of classes but the third semester is a mix of classes and clinicals. If you make it through those three you are most likely set as long as clinicals go well.
Second year is completely different. Full time clinicals with some tests and papers to write here and there. How much time you spend in the hospital depends on which hospital you are at. There are twelve senior rotations (one each month) so you will probably get a mix of hours. The least you would work would be 40 hours a week. The most would be 70+ hours including some weekend days.
