Hi, Jimmy Hoffa question why are you and most your fellow colleagues(CRNA's) feel so threaten by AA-C's. Okay I respect the fact that you have 4 years of Military hospital experience, 10 years of ICU experience, and 4 years of CRNA experience.

Okay let me turn it around to you what's the difference if a AA-CRN has all the same exact experience and years that you just mention you have obtain ? remember He/She still a Anesthetist doing the same exact job your doing in the ACT Model, with the difference he/she went to AA School instead of CRNA School.

His/Her title is AA-C,MMSc,BSN(Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology and Patient Monitoring/AA-CRN). In reality Jimmy your disrespecting and putting down one of your own fellow nurses when you bath mouth the AA-C profession. Again there are BSN(nurses) who are AA-C just remember that.

Interesting I took the liberty of doing some research on AA-C's, I was very surprise to see one Hospital in Atlanta, GA had 80 Anesthetists on Staff out or those 80 Anesthetists 65 of them are AA-C's and 15 are CRNA's. I can assure you Jimmy out of those 65 AA-C's Anesthetists 1/2 of them are or maybe BSN ICU Nurses(AA-CRN).

To answer your question Jimmy a lot of BSN nurses that are now AA-C/AA-CRN especially in Georgia didn't have to Pick and move hundreds of miles away from there family and friends just to go to the nearest CRNA School. When in reality there is a AA School Program anywhere from 10-30 minutes away from home or 3-15 miles from home verses driving 2-3 hours to the nearest CRNA School program.

In closing Jimmy, what your saying is your a CRNA with 3 kids two of your Sons are BSN nurses they want to become a Anesthetist you give them your blessing and full support. With the only difference is they both want to become an AA-C instead of a CRNA, after doing there research they find being an AA-C is more interesting and challenging. Such as obtaining a Under-Graduate degree taking Pre-Med course and taking the MCAT(Medical College Admission Test),at a School Of Medicine or Medical school.

Class is Co-Directed and taught by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist(MDA)in the same manner as CRNA School. When AA-S(students)AA-C's start clinical rotation there preceptor are AA-C's Anesthetist and Anesthesia Residents Doctors(MDA's)

So my question to you Jimmy, would you actually disown both of your Sons and not support them just because they chose another path of being a Anesthetist(AA-C/AA-CRN),instead of becoming a CRNA, because It's want you wanted them to be and not want they wanted to be. If that is true Jimmy then I feel sorry for you and I would also have to say very sick too.

Why can't we just RESPECT each other profession and just work as a TEAM! It's not about you are your title It's about the Patient First Always.

Have A Good Day Sir I hope you will change the way you think, the very person that might save your life or be your best friend one day may be a AA-C, you never know what life is going to throw at YOU!.
