This is very true...fact is a lot of MDAs are seeing the big picture in reality AA-Cs do work very well with the MDAs and Surgeons. FACT:MDAs hold AA-Cs in high regards in the surgical team ACT MODEL. A lot of the time depends on where AA-Cs work they are often mistaken for Anesthesiologist(MDA). FACT:AA-Cs and MDAs have a high mutual respect for each other why?...because of there strong education back ground being (Pre-Med) AA-Cs must have just as the MDAs do. AA-Cs do not in any way try to challenge or under mind MDAs like most CRNAs do even within the ACT Model. not all CRNAs think like this. FACT:MDAs want an Anesthetist who will work as a valuable team member under their Medical Direction and/or Supervision as it should always be with out the politics of wanting to be independent with in the ACT MODEL(CRNAs). But will still always have some autonomy in the ACT MODEL. That's where AA-Cs are coming into the picture and why MDAs perfer AAs/AA-Cs over CRNAs. 50% of Anesthetist in Georgia are AA-Cs in most hospitals the ratio for AA-Cs over CRNAs is 80%-85%. A lot of the AA-Cs in Georgia are BSN nurses and very proud to be called an AA-CRN. Why is it the vast majority of CRNAs have a problem being under the Medical Direction or Supervision of an MDA or any Physician period? AA-Cs Don't have a problem being under the Direction of an MDA. When your CRNAs were working in ICU as nurse true you had a lot of autonomy but you were still under a Medical Doctor which you still had to answer to him/her and had no problem. Now that your a CRNA It's a problem why?. You CRNAs are like a Cancer cell when you touch a good cell want happens? it spreads and destroys the other good cells through out the body. You CRNAs want to Dominate and Control every thing you touch in a negative way instead of a positive way, again not all CRNAs think like this. In closing if you have issues of a MDA or any Physician over you then you know what to do Go BACK TO MEDICAL SCHOOL AND BECOME A DOCTOR(MDA). That's what AA-Cs do if they no longer wants to be under the supervision of an MDA They go back to Medical School and continue there path in becoming an ANESTHESIOLOGIST. Why is it so hard for you CRNAs to do the Same?...instead of using Politics, Legislation, or Negative tactics to gain independent rights. Just go back to Medical School that way you will have all the autonomy you want with out politics coming into the picture period.
