Well, the DO school in my state (PCOM-GA) "boasts" an average accepted GPA of 3.4, and an average MCAT score of 24.
Currently, I have a 3.74 GPA; I'm hoping to maintain at least a 3.6 by the end of this semester.
What I'm counting on is that, if I apply to DO schools, my advantage would be in having a high GPA (3.7+) to offset a low MCAT score.
I would say that I'd have a shot at PCOM-GA if I had a GPA of 3.75 and an MCAT score of, say, 22. Yes, that is a low MCAT score -- but, remember that PCOM's average accepted GPA is only 3.4, so the higher GPA should offset the lower MCAT score.
