I am a CRNA and worked as a Critical Care Nurse for 8 years before obtaining this degree. I don't see what the big deal is with all shortage in the medical profession isn't there room for everyone- isn't the optimal goal the best care for the patient? Many of the people who go to AA school are health care professionals such as Respiratory Therapists who aren't nurses that are just as equally qualified to be trained in anesthesia and in some cases maybe more quailified. I feel if there are people wanting to provide good care to patients and willing to obtain neccessary education then why not? Before we all went to school we were all teenagers, how did we get our jobs? We went to school and obtained the education and training to do our jobs, why is this issue different? I work with an AA shoulder to shoulder we do the exact same job, he is awesome and I work with a CRNA who I wouldn't let touch me with a 10 foot pole. Ultimately we are here for the patients and I'm glad I don't work where DD does and have her work on me with all the anger issues she seems to have.
