Re: Student Loan Forgiveness
The only loan forgiveness program that exist for AA's that I am aware of is the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. So you have to work at for an institution that qualifies. To my knowledge all university jobs qualify, and non-profit hospital jobs qualify. AA jobs with private practice companies would most likely not qualify unless you could prove you are serving underserved regions. Do some research on the Forgiveness Program and where you are thinking of working after school. Most importantly when interviews for jobs, make that a question you ask. Personally, I just started working and am planning on doing the PSLF, as my insinuation qualifies. Current projections show I'll have about $45k to $50k of my loans forgiven at the end of 120 payments. My principle after graduation was about $170k, which includes all my federal loans from undergrad and AA school. Hope this was helpful.
