If you don't have an issue financially and can deal with the stress of a relatively intense/time-consuming application, why not apply? It's true, there may be programs with a less than ideal amount of seats open at that time. But people also decline offers of acceptance all the time and I'm sure some others will withdraw after paying the deposit to attend another program. It certainly can't hurt to apply if you put in the effort to produce a quality application. A side note: I would make sure to shadow before you get too far into your application to make sure this is something you'd love to do for the rest of your life. Your GRE scores are good, and your GPA is excellent. I got 4 interviews with no healthcare experience but 2.5 years of research in the dept of anesthesiology, GPA 3.65, MCAT 510. Good luck!
