Re: Rumors of Emory holding late interviews?
I finally got my rejection email today. I guess Emory does send out everything in batches. Oh well. I wonder why some people have impressive life experiences, high GPA/GRE scores, healthcare experience, master's degree, etc. and still get turned down flat-out, and yet others with the exact same attributes on a similarly competitive level DO get interview offers? For certain applicants, is it likely just coming down to comparing personal essays to determine which of the two or three applicants being evaluated will receive an interview? People always like to point out that GRE/GPA isn't everything and that healthcare experience and extracurriculars and general life experiences are all taken into consideration, but why is it that people who have the high grades and test scores AND all those other attributes are still turned down, while others who have more or less the same profile get an interview?
