also, why don't either of nova's programs teach physics if it's so important? i have researched the areas of physics that are utilized in anesthesia and taught in AA programs (mostly gases and fluid dynamics), and what's so ironic is that my university's physics curriculum doesn't even cover those topics in physics. they cover them in chemistry.... and i made an A in that!
i have no problems with gas laws/fluid dynamics and have no doubt that i can put in the effort to do well in anesthesia physics in an AA program. of course, if i end up at nova i won't even have to worry about it. =)
let's say that instead of making a D, i had put in a lot of extra effort and ended up making an 87, which is a B at my university (a 3.0). an 87 sounds pretty good to me, but it's still just a B. and with this being a re-take, there was no room to make anything lower than an A. so even if i had made a B (which would've been a huge improvement over what i ended up with, like 25+ points higher final average), i still would be in the position of being screwed over.
i want to make one last point here, which is that people have gotten accepted in the past with C's in more than just physics. most of those people didn't have healthcare/life experience either. i believe some of them even had a low GRE score like i had.
think about that.... what if i had not bothered to re-take physics and just applied and gotten an interview? if other people with the same application blemishes as myself have done it, why do you think it couldn't happen for me? because you don't like my attitude?
what is kind of funny about all of this is that you dont think i have any business going to AA school. however, that is simply your opinion and it may or may not be shared by admissions committees. honestly, i think what freaks you out is the fact that i have a very realistic chance at getting an interview at an AA program, and you can't do anything but accept that once someone gets an interview, whether they get in or not depends all on their interview performance. if i get an interview, that means they think i have what it takes, and then all i gotta do is rock the interview and i'm in!
either way, at this point, it's anyone's guess as to whether i actually will be offered an interview slot. your guess is as good as mine. we will know in early january, i suppose. what is also ironic is that my new transcripts wouldn't be sent out until that time anyways, so the AA programs are still going to make their decisions on who to invite to interviews without knowing that i f*cked this semester up.
i will definitely keep this thread updated and let everyone know if i receive an interview and watch AA-s #2 get mad :-)
