Saying that doing well in a program is not important is simply the most retarded statement I've read in some time. GPA IS important when you get into the clinical phase of your program. Not in the sense that slight differences in GPA will make any difference but in that someone who knows the material well will have done better than those that don't and this WILL translate into clinical practice. This doesn't mean that the person with the highest program GPA will be the best anesthetist, it just means that if you don't understand the material as well there is no way you can perform as well as someone who does. Its simple. I'm also in clinical now and I have clinical experience prior to AA school. Also, I wasn't referring to GPA in the program but about the undergrad GPA of matriculants so I have no idea why you are talking about the clinical phase of the program here.
