As a RT I've made over 70K/year, made great contacts with physicians and nurses, have been trained to do ECMO (aka long term bypass), understand the dynamics of healthcare, understand what a sick patient looks like, understand what an ET tube is, etc. And if I don't get into AA school, guess what, I have a stable job that pays well and lets me live practically anywhere in the country. I'll take that any day over a BS in biology, chemistry, i.e. a degree without any type of real world training.
