I am going to begin medical school this year and I am currently a physician assistant. I want to become an anesthesiologist: why do the CRNA's gripe so much? Without anesthesiologists or the ACT model there wouldn't be CRNAs. Anyway they are NOT physicians and I've seen plenty of instances where a CRNA crapped their pants because of anesthesia induced psychosis. The anesthesiologist because he is medically trained (NOT the nursing model) like AAs was able to evaluate and correct the situation. Anesthesia is just not intubating and pushing meds - its knowing how to handle each case.
