Do you have your phone set to auto send pix to G Drive? Maybe that's it.
I don't believe so. In the past, I have taken photos with my camera app and used an option there to share them with Google Drive (if that's what I wanted to do).
I remember last weekend, I manually updated about 20 apps on my phone, and I think that's when this My Drive app appeared. I remember Google Maps wouldn't update until I agreed to update Google Play services, which I did. Maybe it got added then or perhaps when I updated Google Drive.
But the weird thing is that I can't find this "My Drive" app in either the list of apps on my phone or in the Google Play App Store. I just see the icon on my homescreen.
UPDATE: Okay, I just went to the Google Drive app on my phone (couldn't find any My Drive app in the list of apps, as I said before), and one of the features listed is "Use your device camera to scan in paper documents." I believe this is what the "My Drive" app does. So the My Drive icon on the homescreen is probably the result of updating the Google Drive or the Google Play Services app last week. Apparently, "My Drive" is a feature of Google Drive that has been given its own separate icon on the homescreen, which makes sense because the icon looks like a camera with the Google Drive icon in one corner.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
BTW, I've been having a lot of problems updating my phone lately, and I was just checking out the reviews of the Google Play Services app, and everybody is complaining about the recent update to that app messing up their phones:

All these problems with updating the apps almost makes me wish they would merge Chrome OS with Android, so as to solve the problem of the never-ending updates of apps on Android phones! I have read that it is done this way because the Android phone OS itself almost never gets updated, so they update all the apps constantly instead. What a PITA!
