It is hard to believe that this horse is already 23 and still showing! Below is a photo of us at an open schooling show last weekend. We are working on improving our First Level scores, and succeeded in doing so this time. We were 2nd place out of 7 and 2nd place out of 4 with our highest score being 66%. Now if we can get those scores at the recognized shows! The big battle has been getting her to slow down and relax.
I had a little too much of a grip on her in this photo, so she braced her neck, but for the most part she relaxed and did her job.
Zarra is 5 points away from her Legion of Honor award, so she still may do a show or two at age 24 before she steps aside and lets her daughter take her place.
By the way, the saddle I am riding in is my Reactor Panel saddle I just bought her daughter. I love it!!!
