Today I took Saba to her first fully recognized 3 star rated Dressage show since she did so well at her schooling show. I had no idea that I would be taking her to real shows so soon, but she is ready.
She placed 2nd out of 10 in Training Level Test 1 with a score of 66.8% She was then 2nd again in Training Level Test 2 with 66%. This was an all-breed show, but put on as part of the Morgan Sport Horse Classic. The classes were not divided up for amature and open riders, and the judge is someone I consider to be fairly tough. It was a trainer that got first place on both rides, but I know there were trainers that placed after me.
I'm pretty excited about her. Who would have thought? When I bred her, I was only thinking of breeding an endurance horse. Lots of people were commenting on her and how nice she moves. During her second ride, there was someone driving a horse carriage on a road that goes behind the Dressage court. Saba thought this was pretty exciting. I managed to keep her attention somehow. She has never seen a horse-drawn cart before! At the last show it was a train that went by that we had to deal with.
Hopefully the photographer will get photos up on her site soon. I am dying to see how she looked.
Patty
