Today Saba went to a Dressage competition clinic for the first time ever doing Dressage away from home or the trainer's place.
She did fantastic considering she only just started doing canter work recently, and the arena was only partly useable most of the winter and we can't really practice in that crummy oval arena.
For Training Level test 1 she scored 65% and Training Level test 2 64%. She actually got very good scores for her canter circles and free walk, scoring several 7s and 8s. We do need to work on our canter departures, but I was thrilled that once we got the canter, she went so nice. I was surprised they did placings at a competition clinic, especially since the turn out was pretty small. Saba got 1st place out of 2 and 2nd place out of 3. The judged commented that she is diligent and obedient.
Best of all, see looked happy and seemed to enjoy herself.
Patty
