Al came in this morning and said we lost two chickens. He went to the coop, opened the door to the nesting box and a chicken flew into his arms, terrified. He then opened the main door and all the chickens were trying to hide, then he saw two of them with their heads ripped off 
He was scanning the coop when he spotted a big Barred Owl staring at him. He managed to get the owl out of the little door to the yard and the owl flew away. Good thing we're getting more chicks this spring. Now to put mesh over the yard so this won't happen again. Luz (our Great Pyrenees) keeps the big predators away, but not much she can do about an owl.
