Hi everyone. Not much horse related to report from Idaho. We are just trying to deal with the massive amounts of snow we are still getting. My son and I spent all day helping our neighbors shovel roofs off. First we did our neighbors, Ken and Itka's barn which had maybe 3-4 feet of snow on it. The metal roof was slippery enough we had to rope ourselves for safety but not slippery enough for the snow to slide off.
Then we all moved on to our other neighbors place to shovel off the snow roof over his double wide. He lives in CA most of the time and flew up arriving yesterday afternoon after getting word his garage had collapsed from the snow. We got most off it cleared off before dark. As we headed home we saw a moose crossing the field. It was belly deep and having a pretty hard time trudging along. Had a break in the weather last night but 10" are forecast starting late afternoon. So we will spend another day clearing more roofs. At least my barn always dumps the snow. I may be having to crawl in the top of the dutch door soon though. The weather is forecast to warm up in a few days so that is good for roofs but will be a mess everywhere else. But we will have water next summer
Hope everyone else is survivng the winter OK.
