I contacted Angel's current owner via e-mail to see how she was doing. Come to find out Angel is for sale due to her not working out for her daughters. I asked if I could come out and see her. She told me sure I could come by. This was the first time in a little over 4yrs I was able to see her in person. She looks great and she is huge to me, according to her owner she measure right at 15 hands(kind of wild since both sire and dam are under that
). She is currently training for jumping and seems to love it which is great. It was good to see her.
After that I decided to check on her dam who I haven't seen in a little over 4 yrs as well. I was curious how she was doing being that she is in her twenties now(22 to be exact). Her owner told me to come by and visit. So on Saturday my daughter and I got to see her. She looks great for 22yrs. SHe is as pudgy as ever(this mare stays fat on air, I am not kidding) and still a carrot fiend. She throughly enjoyed the carrots my daughter and I offered her. I even got to take a picture of my daughter on her back. They look perfect together. Maybe in a couple of years
. It was awesome visiting everyone. I also got to see Angel's half-brother(he was Misty's first foal and an surprise at that). He looks so much like his dam except he is bay, even Angel has Misty's look to her too. He was a sweet boy and I was told he was a great trail horse.
It was just so much fun seeing Misty and her family. Of course my daughter fell in love with Misty's owner's golden retriever. Now she wants one. I told her we have to wait because we don't have room for two dogs(luckily her dog is a golden retriever/chow mix who happens to have the golden's personality and love of kids).
All in all it was just plain fun.
